Proud to be feeding Chalfont St Peter since 1981
Mr Crusty has been a village staple for over 40 years, we'd even go as far to say we're a bit of a household name.
A Slice of Village History
Owner, Emily Heffernan, worked at Mr Crusty as a Saturday girl before she bought the business in 2016. Emily is close family friends with the Haley family, who founded the business in 1981. As you can see from the photo on the right, Mr Crusty used to only be half the size! The other half was Mr Video, also owned by the Haley Family.
Making delicious sandwiches and learning the ropes of the business, Emily grew a passion for Mr Crusty straight away. One of the things Emily loved the most was the friendships she made with the customers. She found simple things like remembering names, sugars in tea, finding out about family and work goes a long way. When she took over the business, she wanted to ensure both her and her staff carried the same ethos with as many customers as possible.
Today Mr Crusty is still the number one sandwich shop in Chalfont St Peter (and the surrounding villages, in our opinion) and proud to be feeding old time and new customers each week.
Mr Crusty prides itself on being an affordable, traditional, British Sandwich shop. If you have not visited us in while then not much has changed, even our prices! We try to keep up with the times where we can and Mr Crusty now takes card payments, has social media platforms, a shiny new website, branding and loyalty cards for all our wonderful customers to take advantage of.
